In honor of Women's History Month, this episode explores the powerful theme of women reclaiming their narratives by reframing the traditional roles of rescuer and savior. We celebrate the strength and resilience of women who are courageously stepping back from the role of constant rescuer and instead focusing on self-care, empowerment, and personal growth. In today's Energy Elevator, Rachael shares a passage from Sue Patton Thoele's "The Woman's Book of Courage: Meditations for Empowerment & Peace of Mind," describing how to let go of our Woman-As-Rescuer role, and instead let others live their lives.

Today's episode covers Chapter 6 of Deepak Chopra's "The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success." The Law of Detachment explains that we must not attach ourselves to an outcome, and instead let pure potentiality provide us with new opportunities and possibilities that we may not have known were available. By staying true to our True Self and practicing mindfulness, we can learn to enjoy the journey rather than getting caught up with the destination.

Today's Elevator continues Deepak Chopra's The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success, the Law of Least Effort. You might be asking yourself, "I'm sorry, did I just read *least* effort?" And to that, we say YES! What you do naturally out of love, compassion, and joy brings you closer to your dreams. Hate, judgment, and manipulation do not come intrinsically to our true Self, which ultimately makes us use more effort in our behaviors. When we act in alignment with our true Self, it takes minimal effort, which allows us to live in peace and love.

The origin of Black History Month begins in 1926, when Carter G. Woodson created Negro History Week to celebrate the education of Black history in public schools. By the 1960's, the one-week celebration evolved into a one-month historical observance. Today, Rachael shares the poem "BLK History Month" by Nikki Giovanni.

Happy 2024! We are so excited to kick off the year by bringing Leigh-Ann Larson, LMHC back on the podcast to talk about Emotional Freedom Technique, also known as EFT or tapping. Tapping is a holistic practice that targets certain points in the body, that when "tapped," will move energy in the body and change neuropathways in the brain. Rachael volunteers as tribute in this episode, as Leigh-Ann brings her though a personalized EFT session surrounding Rachael's New Years resolution.

Emotional Freedom Technique Script for Self-Sabotage
If I [change of behavior],
If I stop eating sugary foods and drinking hot chocolate,
If I stop smoking,
I deeply and completely love and accept myself anyway.
Even though I’m afraid of [fear],
Even though I’m afraid my identity would change and life wouldn’t be as fun,
Even though I’m afraid that I would not feel as confident,
I accept who I am and how I feel.
I’m afraid of [another related fear].
I’m afraid of missing out on fun foods.
I’m afraid of feeling physically uncomfortable.
What if [how life would change negatively]?
What if I’m not just fun to hang out with or eat out with anymore?
What if I’m not included with my smoking buddies anymore?
I’m afraid that [another fear].
I’m afraid that my identity will be changed.
I’m afraid that I won’t fit in.
What if [another fear]?
What if people really see that I’m not a fun person?
What if I don’t feel confident anymore?
What if [outcome of fear]?
And they would prefer not to hang out with me because I don’t eat fun foods?
And my relationships are ruined because I don’t smoke?
I’m afraid that [fear].
I’m afraid that I won’t be fun.
I’m afraid that I won’t be in control.
What if [another fear]?
What if food is just boring and I am boring?
What if smoking is the only positive trait about me?
What if [another fear]?
What if my change in identity makes life dull?
What if my change in identity makes life lonely?
What if [another fear]?
What if people really don’t see me the same way they see me now?
What if people really don’t see me the same way they see me now?
Acknowledge the resistance.
I really, really don’t want those changes to happen.
I really, really don’t want those changes to happen.
I am afraid of [fear].
I am afraid of missing out.
I am afraid of feeling uncomfortable.
Even though I’m afraid,
And I [current belief that promotes no change in behavior],
And I really don’t think water is as fun as hot chocolate,
And I really don’t think my friends would accept me,
I deeply and completely love and accept myself anyway.
Even though I’m afraid of [fear and changed behavior],
Of FOMO and this identity of loving fruits and vegetables and water,
Of losing my friendships and quitting smoking,
I accept who I am and how I feel.
Deep breath in, deep breath out.
